Minds Against Crime is a unique charitable organization dedicated to the reduction of crime in our communities.
The Problem:
A well-trained community corrections workforce is essential to helping ensure the safety of neighborhoods. Over 70% of the adult and 60% of the juvenile correctional population in the United States is on some form of community supervision or involved in community correctional programming.
Nationally, the community corrections field receives 10% of correctional funding – the other 90% is spent on systems of incarceration. Many pretrial, probation, parole and community correctional programs struggle financially to provide even the most basic training for their staff. The ongoing advancement of evidence-based practices requires up-to-date education and skill training for individuals in the field to ensure they have the ability to effectively reduce offending behaviors.
Unfortunately, many professionals lack the resources to receive the necessary training.

Our Solution:
It is the goal of Minds Against Crime to address this problem through scholarships, the provision of training and technical assistance and the procurement of technologies that enable training. By providing grants for all of these services, we are supporting and providing for the future leaders of community corrections, and helping to reduce crime in communities throughout the nation.
